Tony Gold

We are particularly proud to present the Champion Dressage Stallion of the 2026 KWPN Stallion Inspection: Tony Gold.

He is an exceptionally complete, modern dressage stallion that brings it all together: breed characteristics, youth, a strong and athletic physique, and a way of moving that convinces in terms of balance, technique, and agility. During the championship inspection, he was praised as a stallion where the “complete horse” is right: conformation, movement, and pedigree align seamlessly. Tony Gold has remarkably good agility, moves with great balance and leg technique, and displays a natural sporting posture.

Pedigree that breathes sport
Tony Gold is a son of the Olympic stallion Glock’s Toto Jr. and is out of Aweih (by Apache) — a dam who carries sport and performance in her genes. Aweih is a daughter of the legendary Weihegold and is also a half-sister to, among others, the Olympic stallion Total Hope.

Weihegold
Dam Weihegold OLD was an Oldenburg Champion mare, Burg Cup and Louisdor Prize winner, and under Isabell Werth an Olympic and three-time World Cup winner and four-time European Champion. She also produced the licensed Jewels Sir Weibach (by Sir Donnerhall I), who was successful up to Grand Prix level under Tristan Tucker/AUS. The daughters of Weihegold OLD also became stallion mothers. Her daughter, the State Premium mare Weihcera Royal, herself successful at Prix St. Georges level, is the mother of the approved and Inter I-winning For Gold (by Franziskus)/Stefanie Wolf. Fürstin Weihe (by Fürst Romancier) supplied the Oldenburg premium stallion and Prix. St. Georges successful Damon Gold OLD (by Damon Hill). The St.Pr.St. Weihcine (by Fürst Heinrich) produced the Oldenburg reserve champion and Dodo Weihgand (by Diamond Hit), who was placed up to M** dressage level, as well as the mare Weihdira (by De Niro), whose son Seattle descended from So Perfect, approved in Hannover in 2023. The full sister Weihdira Weihnira produced the approved Iowa Gold (by Asgard's Ibiza). The stallion Viva Gold (by Vivaldi), who is making a name for himself in Grand Prix under Isabell Werth, is out of the Weihegold daughter Weihronce (by For Romance I). The Weihegold daughter St.Pr.St. Aweih H (by Apache) is successful at S-level under Stefanie Wolf and became the dam of the Westphalian Champion stallion Extra Gold (by Escolar) and our Champion stallion Tony Gold. The NRPS-approved stallion L’Avenir (by Le Formidable) is out of Weihe’s Hope (by Sir Donnerhall I). The Weihegold son Special Gold PCH (by San Amour I) was at the top of the S* dressage classes in 2023 under Katharina Hemmer. His half-brother Vitally PCH (by Vitalis) finished fourth under Anna Schölermann in the 2023 Bundeschampionat final for five-year-old dressage horses.

Weihegold OLD is a daughter of Don Schufro. Weihegold’s sire, Don Schufro, was a leading figure in sport and breeding for many years. He was successful in international Grand Prix under Andreas Helgstrand, and in 2008 they won Bronze with the Danish team in Hong Kong.

The combination of top sires and a proven dam line makes Tony Gold genetically particularly interesting for breeders who wish to establish sport quality, temperament, and modern conformation.
