Henkie
Best Gelderland dressage stallion of all time with top performances at the World Cup
2024
02-11-2024 Henkie wins the Prix St. Georges again at the sub-top competition in Raalte under Adelinde Cornelissen with a superb score of 72.42%.
2023
28-01-2023 Henkie wins the Prix St. Georges in Ambt-Delden with an impressive 74.632% under Adelinde Cornelissen.
2022
10-2022 Henkie makes his winning debut in the Prix St. Georges in Bathmen with a fantastic score of 74.338%. Due to corona, this debut was delayed for a while, but the duo Henkie and Adelinde immediately impressed by winning their debut! In addition, we also see that Henkie's offspring are doing well and are in demand! A colt by Henkie (Alexandro x Upperville) was the absolute top lot at the DSP Online auction. Hemmingway (Henkie x Sir Donnerhall) proved to be in huge demand and was ultimately sold for a fantastic top price of 130,500 euros! In addition, the 2021 mare champion did not disappoint during her IBOP test. She received 85.5 points, making her the top scorer of 2022. A Henkie daughter also won the Pavo pre-selection in Oud-Karspel with no less than 85 points!
2021
What a wonderful year for Henkie and his offspring! Approval for Noah Di Livius (Henkie x Jazz) at the Oldenburg studbook, including a 9.5 from the guest rider! Furthermore, Henkie produced the mare champion Ninkie (Henkie x Voice), bred by H. Ermens. She was crowned champion at the National Day of the Gelderland Horse and became reserve champion of the three-year-old Gelderland Mares at the NMK in Ermelo. 2020
In 2020, 23 Gelderland offspring of Henkie (Alexandro P x Upperville) were registered with the KWPN. With this, he, who participated in the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses three years in a row with Adelinde Cornelissen, produced the most Gelderland-bred foals. However, 2020 was also a year of training and no competitions for Henkie and Adelinde Cornelissen. Henkie has been very successful since his early career. Last year, Adelinde devoted a lot of attention to Henkie's transition ability and basic gaits. He now seems able to collect even more, and the plan is to start in the Prix St. Georges this summer. Adelinde has high expectations for him towards the top level of sport, and we have been proud of this high-performing combination for years. Foal Champion

KWPN report following victory in Kronenberg Stallion Competition:
His regular rider Adelinde Cornelissen on Henkie: “There is actually nothing I would want to change about him,” rider Adelinde Cornelissen responds enthusiastically after her victory in the M class of the Anemone Horse Trucks Stallion Competition with the convincing Alexandro P son Henkie.
Jury chair Karin Retera indicated after the winning test that she and fellow judge Arie Hamoen, just like the audience, had enjoyed the convincing performance of Adelinde Cornelissen and the KWPN-approved Gelderland stallion Henkie (Alexandro P out of Beaujamanda ster by Upperville, breeder Gait Hekkert). With a 9.5 for the walk, 8.5s for the trot, canter, and aptitude, and a 9 for harmony, the duo scored 88 points, allowing them to win the competition at De Peelbergen, just like last year. “What a beautiful, consistent test! Henkie was presented nicely and actively, has good, quiet contact, and naturally possesses a great deal of self-carriage. His walk is phenomenal, with excellent use of the body, scope, and decisive use of the hindquarters. In the trot, Henkie moves with beautiful carriage, and the transitions are executed very well every time. In the canter, his natural aptitude for collection is also striking, and he forms a very harmonious combination with Adelinde,” explained chairwoman Karin Retera.
Adelinde also speaks of Henkie with awe; "To me, Henkie is a true dressage horse, and he has already proven that in recent years during the World Championships and the KWPN Stallion Competition. The feeling he gives is truly amazing. Henkie has so much power, looseness, and agility."
2016
In 2016, Henkie was the sensation under Adelinde Cornelissen in Ermelo during the World Championships for Young Horses. He moved through the arena with great power and suppleness and achieved a score of no less than 91%, with a 9.5 for walk, 9.0 for trot, 9.5 for canter, and 9.0 for aptitude as a dressage horse. He repeated this during the stallion competition in the Peelbergen with a score of no less than 93%. Here too, the judges spoke superlatives about the Alexandro P son and awarded him three 9.5s for his basic gaits, as well as for his aptitude as a dressage horse. "An impressive performance. What allure, what looseness, and how well he can already switch gears. Really very good!" said Mariette Sanders.
KWPN Breeding Advice:
Henkie can improve the basic gaits, particularly regarding foreleg use and shoulder freedom. Henkie could be an innovation in our modern dressage horse breeding and invariably passes on a very beautiful foreleg. This was also confirmed by the Stallion Selection Committee of the Gelderland horse: the trot is shown with good posture, suppleness, and balance, with good foreleg technique and good shoulder freedom. The canter is more than adequate to good in power, scope, and suppleness.
