We are delighted to have been able to purchase a Trakehner stallion with such movement. He possesses an exceptionally beautiful foreleg with great swing and an active hind leg. Top Star U.S. has a beautiful, pure walk and a remarkably good canter. We are genuinely proud to be able to offer this striking Trakehner stallion to Dutch breeding. With these strong movements, he also became a Premium Stallion at the 2025 Trakehner licensing. His dam produces an exceptional amount of sport. Her daughter, the mare 'Topmodel' by the stallion All Inclusive (by Gribaldi), is already Grand Prix classified. Additionally, there are 3 horses at Z2 and ZZ-Light level; this also demonstrates the toughness that Trakehners possess, and this stems in part from the Habicht son Sixtus. Following this is the stallion Condus, who in turn is a son of the World Sire Ramzes X, who also forms the foundation of contemporary Holstein breeding. In the 4th generation comes the Trakehner stallion Herbststurm, son of the stallion Komet and sire of our well-known Trakehner and KWPN stallion Doruto.

NEUMÜNSTER – Joop van Uytert has already had a number of Trakehner stallions at his stud, but Gribaldi is the only stallion he purchased at the Trakehner Stallion Licensing in Neumünster. The premium stallion Top Star (Kwahu x Cadeau), who became the property of Van Uytert and Schockemöhle at the auction last weekend for 175,000 euros, thus succeeds Gribaldi in Heerewaarden. “After the passing of Easy Game, I no longer had a purebred Trakehner stallion at the stud. I had been looking for several years, but I could never find one. With this stallion, I had that special feeling again; it was this one or none.” Over the years, Joop van Uytert had a considerable number of Trakehner stallions at his stud. Naturally, there was Gribaldi (by Kostolany) and his son Easy Game, but TCN Partout (by Arogno), Balzflug (by Habicht), Biotop (by Blesk), Michelangelo (by Pasteur xx), Kennedy (by Michelangelo), and Hofrat (by Gribaldi) were also offered through him.

Exactly thirty years ago (1995), Joop van Uytert, together with Rinus de Jong, bought the black Gribaldi, the stallion that made him famous as a stallion owner. Subsequently, his son Easy Game, who came into Van Uytert's possession as a foal, ensured that Van Uytert's long-cherished dream came true: a stallion at the Olympic Games (Hermès). In all the years between 1995 and now, Van Uytert attended the Trakehner inspection every year, but he rarely found the right stallion. “Münchhausen was one of those stallions I wanted, but he became so expensive (350,000 DM, ed.) that it wasn't feasible.” This year, however, he finally found it: the right stallion. “This stallion is one who, for me, has everything a Trakehner should have. Incredibly beautiful, a fantastic foreleg, three good gaits – including a good canter – he is in top health and has a super dam who has already produced a Grand Prix horse and four Z-level dressage horses.”

“I had to have this one, and Paul Schockemöhle wanted to participate too. I would have gone for it even without Schockemöhle, but Paul said: ‘We have already done so much together and had so much luck together, we’ll do this together too.’ And he is incredibly fanatical. He called me at least three times a day during those days at the inspection and, at eighty years old, still follows everything closely.”

To Heerewaarden
For a price of 175,000 euros, the second-highest price in the auction, the hammer fell for the duo US. However, Van Uytert did make the agreement that the stallion would come to Heerewaarden. “I didn’t want him to stay in Germany; I want him at home here.”
