Gaspard, premium stallion at the 2020 Trakehner Stallion Licensing in Neumünster, is among the first licensed sons of champion stallion His Moment, alongside Schäplitzer.

Gaspard is a true movement artist and an exceptional stallion. With his youthful, self-confident, and charming presence, he impressed spectators with breathtaking performances at his licensing. His noble appearance and strong presentations, both in-hand and in free movement, have placed him among the top stallions of his generation. His powerful, supple, and well-balanced basic gaits show great elasticity and desired technique. His walk, in particular, demonstrates excellent carrying power, contributing to the harmonious overall impression of this remarkable young dressage horse.

In addition to being named a premium stallion in 2020, Gaspard went on to win the German Trakehner Championship for 7-year-olds and qualified for the World Young Horse Championships final in the same age group. His early foal crops have already produced several state premium mares, confirming his exceptional breeding value.

The pedigree of Gaspard reads like a who’s who of the Trakehner breed. His sire, His Moment, was champion stallion of his age group and is trained by German national trainer Jonny Hilberath. Just like his son, he captured attention during his own licensing. The approved and influential sire line includes Grand Prix and advanced dressage icons such as E.H. Millennium, E.H. Easy Game, and E.H. Le Rouge. Tragically, His Moment was put down in June 2024 due to scrotal hernia with severe colic.

On the dam’s side, Gaspard is out of Gabriella, a daughter of the renowned E.H. Imperio, reserve winner at the Neumünster licensing and successful on the international dressage stage with Hubertus Schmidt. Imperio was nominated for the Nations Cup, served as reserve for the Rio Olympics, and competed in the 2017 European Championships. He has sired 11 licensed sons and 27 state premium mares, including Grand Prix stallion Heuberger TSF and vice Bundeschampion Goldmond TSF. E.H. Schwarzgold, another son, has become a popular breeding stallion. The maternal line also includes E.H. Connery, known for his outstanding rideability, and Schwadroneur, Danish Stallion of the Year in both 2000 and 2023, and one of Denmark’s most successful dressage horses with 36 Grand Prix-level victories under Anne Grethe Törnblad. Schwadroneur’s legacy includes licensed stallions, top-priced mares at auctions, and being grandsire of international star BB Dalera TSF – Olympic champion and world number one under Jessica von Bredow-Werndl.

Gaspard’s impact as a sire was quickly confirmed through the outstanding quality of his first foal crops. Breeding directors Lars Gehrmann and Neel-Heinrich Schoof highlighted in Der Trakehner magazine (issue 4/23) the high quality of his offspring in terms of type, basic gaits, and correctness. Notable foals include a filly out of the Hanoverian mare Dancier’s Lightness, named second reserve winner in the dressage filly division at the Oldenburg Fohlenchampionat in 2023. At the Trakehner Foal Championship in Graditz the same year, Gaspard presented the winning dressage filly, out of the premium mare Dolce Vita, who was also named overall reserve champion of the show. His 2024 foal crop continues this trend with highlights such as the colt Gioiello (out of Gunilla by Marseille) and the filly Katara (by Gaspard – Touch my Heart), who has been accepted for the prestigious 2024 Elite Foal Auction in Münster-Handorf. Gaspard’s early breeding success marks him as a stallion with a bright future in both sport and breeding.
