My Blue Hors Santiano

Current 2024:
The direct line between Blue Hors and our Stallion Station was a good success in 2023 and will therefore be continued in 2024 from April 1, 2024 to August 2, 2024.

Orders for Blue Hors Santiano:

• Orders placed on Friday after 9:00 AM, Saturday, Sunday and Monday before 9:00 AM -> Delivery Monday evening.
• Orders placed on Monday after 9:00 AM, Tuesday and Wednesday before 9:00 AM -> Delivery on Wednesday evening.
• Orders placed on Wednesday after 9:00 AM, Thursday and Friday before 9:00 AM -> Delivery on Friday evening.

If you want to collect the semen on the delivery day, you can do this in the evening after 7:30 PM at our station or we will come and inseminate it the same evening at your mare's stable at no extra cost (max. 30-40 km from our station in Heerewaarden). The semen can also be sent the next day with HippoXpress. The shipping costs will then be charged.

However, NVWA paper costs are charged per delivery due to imports from Denmark.

NB! The above delivery conditions only apply to the first 3 orders/deliveries. From the 4th order/delivery, €75 per order will be charged (excl. shipping costs from HippoXpress within NL and NVWA paper costs).

All stallions have very good semen quality.

Blue Hors:

Blue Hors Santiano is a picture-perfect stallion out of a mix of the very best bloodlines. He was purchased as a foal at the stud of the Blue Hors Breeder of the Year 2020; Straight Horse by Eva Götzche and Mogens Pedersen in Denmark. The stud also owns his dam, the mare Romanik, who is out of an amazing dam-line with several highly praised mares and stallions.

In the fall of 2020, Santiano achieved a third place with 87,5 points in total and the impressive marks of 8 for walk, 8,5 for trot, 9,5 for canter, 8,5 for suppleness, 9 for self-carriage, ridability and interior as well as 9 for capacity at his 21-days performance test in KWPN.

“Blue Hors Santiano is a balanced, reliable and sympathetic stallion with a good attitude. The stallion is very willing to work and works very well. The walk is pure, active and has more than sufficient scope. The trot has a lot of cadence, has good scope, good balance and a lot of switching power. The hindleg should have slightly more bend. The canter is uphill with good scope, a lot of impulsion and shows a lot of ability to close. Blue Hors Santiano moves with very good posture, a lot of balance and a lot to a lot of flexibility. Blue Hors Santiano has a lot of talent for dressage and gives his rider a very good feeling”

In 2022, Santiano has participated in the Dutch Stallion Competitions, where he has achieved the top marks of 8 for walk, 9 for trot, 9.5 for canter, 9 for rideability and 8.5 for wholeness, besides also standing stud at Hengstenstation van Uytert, where he has covered almost 400 mares.

Santiano’s sire is the triple World Champion for Young Horses, the Blue Hors Zack son Sezuan. Sezuan is a highly respected producer of both talented and popular breeding stallions, championship winners, high-premium mares, as well as sought-after riding horses, all of which show talent for the most difficult exercises of dressage and an impressive gait – all in both domestic and foreign markets. Sezuan is also the only stallion already sire to several offspring who have won World Championships for Young Horses medals – and who are already on their way to top-level sport. The grand-sire is none other than Blue Hors Zack, who has long been in the Top 10 on the FEI’s world rankings and has competed in several of the biggest international dressage championships, including the 2020 Olympics, and who is also the sire of Sezuan’s half-sister, Straight Horse Ascenzione, who is a successful World Championships for Young Horses finalist and now victorious in international small tour.

Santiano is linebred on the stallion who revolutionized Danish dressage breeding, Blue Hors Don Schufro. Don Schufro helped the Danish national team win a bronze medal at the 2008 Olympics in Hong Kong. Especially Don Schufro’s daughters have had enormous significance in modern breeding.

With mares by both Blue Hors Romanov (dam’s sire) and Don Schufro (sire of the dam’s dam), both of whom were active in international Grand Prix dressage at the highest level, alongside successful careers as breeding stallions, the dam-line behind Santiano is particularly exciting and has an impressive production of successful sports and breeding horses, which perform well across breeding associations. Zack has often competed in international Grand Prix against his own son Glock’s Zonik, who is Santiano’s half-brother, as they’ve both got the mare Romanik to dam. Romanik is also the mother of the Grand Prix mare Zackonik, as well as the grandmother of the gold medal mare Straight Horse De Milla, who was selected for the World Championships for Young Horses in 2020. She is also the dam behind the breeding-approved Straight Horse Sir Romance, as well as Santiano’s full brother Straight Horse Sezarion, who is well on his way to an international career with his Spanish rider Alejandro Asencio Mendez.

Breeding director Martin Klavsen is pleased to have a Sezuan son like Santiano, where type, movement quality in all three gaits, and pedigree on the dam’s side come together in a higher unity. Santiano’s genetic heritage exudes performance on both the paternal and maternal sides. Both sides include both high-premium mares and stallions, as well as sports horses with international performances in international Grand Prix dressage.

Netherlands:

What results have My Blue Hors Santiano and Renate van Uytert van Vliet achieved in 2022. Victories in Subli, Pavo Cup and Stallion Competition. Together they spectacularly won the Pavo Cup for 5-year-old dressage horses in Ermelo during the KWPN horse days. They won the Subli Cup selection in Delft at Manege de Prinsenstad with a score of 83.80%. They became 2nd during the semi-finals of the Subli Cup in Harmelen and received an invitation to the final during Jumping Amsterdam 2023 where they became 4th. They won the Stallion Competition in Ermelo with a mega score of 88.8%. Together they finished second twice at the Stallion Competition in De Peelbergen and Exloo with very high scores of 86.6 and 88.8% respectively. In addition to all these successes, they had also qualified for the World Cup in Denmark for 5 year old dressage horses.

My Blue Hors Santiano also seems to breed very well, with several foals that became champions and highly placed at the foal inspections throughout the Netherlands. We have several good foals from him in rearing, including Skyfall pl. Vivaldi bred by Deedry Heijmans from Den Dungen and Sammy H. mv. Google bred by Alice Hanegraaf from Vinkel.

Winter 2021/2022
What a striking combination My Blue Hors Santiano and Renate were last winter in the Subli Cup and the KWPN Stallion Competition. A large number of participants took part in this Subli competition in 2021. Ultimately, 15 participants were allowed to go to the semi-finals and 5 to the final, which was held in Tolbert in January due to corona restrictions. During this final they finished in a nice 3rd place. They also had great successes in the Stallion Competition with a score of 85 points in Kronenberg and 84 points in Ermelo. Unfortunately we missed the 3rd competition, so we were only allowed to ride the presentation during the KWPN Stallion Inspection in Ermelo. But here everyone spoke with superlatives about the power and strength that this stallion is developing. The goal is to qualify for the World Cup this summer for young dressage horses. His first foals have been born and seem very promising.

2021:
As a breeding station, we are very pleased that My Blue Hors Santiano is at our breeding station. He is a stallion with all the ingredients we need. Innovative blood, strong maternal line with Blue Hors Romanov and Blue Hors Don Schufro. Glock's Zonik also comes from the same mother. Above all, he really has a fantastic strong model with 3 good gaits, of which the canter is excellent.

Pedigree:
The father of My Blue Hors Santiano is Sezuan, the son of the KWPN Stallion Show champion Blue Hors Zack. Blue Hors Zack has been very successful at the highest level for several years under the Dane Daniel Bachmann Andersen, the duo was tenth during the WEG in 2018 in Tryon and fourth during the World Cup final a year later in Gothenburg. During the European Championships in Rotterdam they finished fifth.

Sezuan was named Stallion of the Year in Denmark in 2020, after becoming World Young Dressage Horse Champion three times.

Romanik, the mother of My Blue Hors Santiano, is a daughter of Blue Hors Romanov (by Rohdiamant), who achieved success in the Grand Prix for many years under Hans Peter Minderhoud. For example, they won team silver at the European Championships in Herning. Romanik is the mother of the KWPN-recognized Glock's Zonik (by Blue Hors Zack), who finished fourth with Edward Gal at the European Championships in Rotterdam and won team silver there. She also produced his full brother, the Grand Prix horse Zackonic of the American Christopher Hickey. Romanik's mother Dunja descends from Grand Prix stallion and top sire Don Schufro (by Donnerhall).

Exterior:
My Blue Hors Santiano is a well-developed modern stallion with a lot of charisma and a good rectangular model. The head is appealing. The neck has good length with a light head and neck connection. The neck has good shape, length and muscling. The shoulder is long and sloping. The withers are more than sufficiently developed and have good length. The back has good length and is well muscled. The loin is well muscled and well connected. The croup has good length, position and muscling. The trouser muscle has more than sufficient length. The foreleg is correctly positioned when viewed from the side and from the front. The hind leg is correctly positioned. The pasterns front and rear are of good length and well positioned. The foundation is well developed and of more than sufficient quality. The feet are well developed, good shape and good quality. The heels are well developed.
